As a queer therapist, I know the power of being fully seen in a safe and affirming space. I am passionate about supporting young adults and queer clients in building and maintaining lives that feel authentic and aligned with their values. My therapeutic approach is grounded in connection, collaboration, and compassion, helping you build the skills and confidence to face life with courage and self-compassion.

In our sessions you can expect openness, curiosity, and room for humor. I will meet you where you are, challenge you when it supports growth, and always honor your pace. Whether you are seeking support as an individual or with a partner, I help you uncover strengths, build coping tools, and move through life with greater clarity and resilience.

Therapy can help you better understand yourself, strengthen relationships, and create lasting change. My goal is for you to leave sessions feeling supported, seen, and equipped with tools to face challenges. Whether this is your first time in therapy or you are returning, I offer a space where your whole self is welcome, and your goals are at the center.

Ryan Womack, LCSW, CADC https://prt.sixminuteslate.com/Therapists/ryan-womack-lcsw-cadc/ Fri, 26 Sep 2025 14:00:24 +0000 https://prt.sixminuteslate.com/?post_type=therapists&p=1863 I offer a space where your full, complicated self is welcomed—not judged. I know how hard it can be to ask for help, especially when you’ve spent your life navigating systems that weren’t built with you in mind. As a queer, Black, kink-aware, neurodivergent therapist, I offer a space where your complexity is seen—not pathologized. Whether you’re dealing with substance use, mental health challenges, trauma, or identity questions, I’m here to help you make sense of a senseless world and meet the version of yourself you’re ready to become.

I specialize in LGBTQ+ care, substance use, trauma, anxiety, depression, neurodiversity and systemic harm. My approach is collaborative, curious and deeply nonjudgmental. I want you to feel safe bringing your full self into the room—because that’s where real change starts.

Therapy with me is a space to unpack shame, explore identity, and reconnect with the parts of yourself you’ve had to hide. I work with queer, trans and kinky folks to challenge stigma, heal from trauma and build lives that feel authentic, grounded and free.

Michael Brown, MA https://prt.sixminuteslate.com/Therapists/michael-brown-ma/ Fri, 26 Sep 2025 13:59:08 +0000 https://prt.sixminuteslate.com/?post_type=therapists&p=1861 As a Biracial Caribbean therapist, I am deeply committed to making therapy accessible to all communities, especially those that have been historically marginalized. Growing up with a rich cultural heritage, I have firsthand experience of how cultural and societal barriers can impact one’s mental health journey. This personal understanding fuels my passion for reducing the stigma surrounding mental health care, particularly in communities where seeking help can sometimes feel like a taboo. I believe that everyone, regardless of their background, should have the opportunity to access compassionate and effective support.

I take pride in building a therapeutic relationship grounded in empathy, respect, and trust. My approach is collaborative—I see therapy as a partnership where we work together to understand your challenges, identify your strengths, and explore solutions. I value the individuality of each client and strive to create a space where you can feel heard, validated, and empowered to make the changes you desire. By providing a non-judgmental and supportive environment, I aim to help you navigate the complexities of life, while recognizing the role that culture, identity, and personal experience play in shaping your path.

One of my greatest joys is working with individuals and couples, who often find themselves at critical crossroads in their lives. In our work together, I provide a safe and supportive space where you can freely express yourself and explore the issues that are important to you. Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, self-esteem, relationships, or existential questions, I am here to help you find clarity and direction.

Life is full of uncertainties and challenges, but I believe that by confronting them head-on, we can grow and find meaning even in the most difficult of circumstances. Through our work together, I aim to help you not only cope with life’s challenges but also embrace them as opportunities for personal growth. Whether you are facing a specific issue or simply seeking a deeper understanding of yourself, I am here to walk with you on your journey, providing the tools and support you need to thrive.

Marty Kezon, LCSW https://prt.sixminuteslate.com/Therapists/marty-kezon-lcsw/ Fri, 26 Sep 2025 13:57:47 +0000 https://prt.sixminuteslate.com/?post_type=therapists&p=1859 My work with you is guided by respect, care, and authenticity. I aim to provide a supportive space where you can speak openly and explore what is important to you. Whether you are coming to therapy with a specific goal or with uncertainty about what is possible, we can come together to better understand what it is you want and need – and then move forward from that place.

I practice from a person-centered framework and believe in the importance of each person’s self-determination. I have experience working with adults of all ages, especially queer and trans clients, and my approach is sex-positive and inclusive of those who are monogamous and non-monogamous.

I value and find joy in this work. My style is nonjudgmental, warm, and collaborative, and I care about building a relationship where you can feel accepted and also free to change. I am available for any questions you have and can talk by phone or video first to see if we are a good fit for each other.

Sam Milstone, LPC https://prt.sixminuteslate.com/Therapists/sam-milstone-lpc/ Fri, 26 Sep 2025 13:54:19 +0000 https://prt.sixminuteslate.com/?post_type=therapists&p=1853 Suffering is an ineradicable part of life.

I am certain you have already found things to do to make your suffering easier to deal with, and I aim to provide a harm-reductive approach to refine these solutions to better serve you. I believe that no matter how long we spend together, you will always be the expert when it comes to yourself. Your treatment will rely on this expertise as a tool to carve your path toward living a more empowered and meaningful life—whatever that means to you. I am not interested in providing you with any naive advice, but instead, listening and supporting you as we explore possible solutions and research-backed strategies to make your life easier to live.

My practice with teens and adults often uses the tenets of geek therapy to employ my client’s hobbies and interests as safe context for their uncomfortable thoughts and feelings. My approach is client-centered, solution-focused, and feminist in its critical examination of our constructed lives and relationships. To find reasonable solutions to our problems, I find it important to contextualize our struggles within the oppressive weight of our cultural climate. I enjoy working with fellow LGBTQIA+ people and couples to celebrate our identities whether it be our queer sexuality, gender-queerness, ethnic identity, mental diagnoses, or neurodivergence.

Outside of counseling, I am a proud Chicagoan transplant, who loves woodworking, guitar, movies, my dog, and prepping for one of my Dungeons & Dragons campaigns when I am not in class pursuing a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Adler University.

Dana Wierzbicki, LPC https://prt.sixminuteslate.com/Therapists/dana-wierzbicki-lpc/ Fri, 26 Sep 2025 13:53:06 +0000 https://prt.sixminuteslate.com/?post_type=therapists&p=1851 To me, the therapeutic relationship is what’s at the heart of a meaningful experience in therapy– a relationship where clients feel equally supported and respected whether they’re talking about a proud achievement, a deep regret, or a fleeting moment. I think every person can relate to hiding parts of ourselves, our thoughts, and our lives out of a fear of being judged. When we can trust that someone will hear our words with care and understanding, that trust is what gives us the freedom to explore those things that we often hesitate to express.

As a therapist, I work to build that kind of trusting relationship. Instead of giving advice or trying to guide your actions based on my perspective, I want to understand how you see and experience your world to learn how to best support you as you confront life’s challenges.

I have experience working with people across the age spectrum struggling with stressful or unexpected life changes, issues within their friendships and relationships, self-esteem, anxiety, and depression. I’m especially passionate about working with fellow LGBTQ+ people who are navigating the complicated landscape of their own inner world and the world around us. If you think we might be a good fit, I encourage you to reach out. I look forward to meeting you.

Bert Fox, LCPC https://prt.sixminuteslate.com/Therapists/bert-fox-lcpc/ Fri, 26 Sep 2025 13:51:33 +0000 https://prt.sixminuteslate.com/?post_type=therapists&p=1849 I’m the founder and a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) at Positive Regard Therapy. I graduated with a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling which I completed after a successful 17 year career in corporate marketing. I believe that by creating a collaborative and safe therapeutic relationship, I can be a strong and empathic partner to my clients as they explore the challenges they face and find new ways to initiate growth and change.

My clinical interests include: LGBTQ affirmative therapy (with a particular focus around issues affecting gay, bi or queer men), anxiety, depression, gender and sexual identity development and concerns around sex, relationships and intimacy. I’m sex positive and attuned to the needs of poly, non-monogamous, kink and BDSM clients. I work from a client-centered theoretical approach and integrate solution-focused therapy, motivational interviewing and mindfulness practices into my work.

I honor all the unique and diverse identities clients bring to my practice. I strongly believe that only when someone feels comfortable in their own identities will they feel empowered to achieve their fullest potential.
